Railway Surveillance
Tedial applies its technology to railway surveillance.
The Traffic Executive Management, the Operating Head Department and the Innovation Head Department of Seville, together with the Spanish company, TEDIAL (Tecnologías Digitales Audiovisuales), are testing a prototype to control specially dangerous spots of the railway. The main aim is to reduce incidences and to increase security in infrastructure. It would ease the problem of obstacle detecting.
Tedial applies its technology from the continuous image compilation through strategically located cameras, to sending of alarm signals to the Traffic Centre.
Once the image is captured, it is analysed to determine if there is an obstacle on the railway. If there is no anomaly, the system continues capturing images. Otherwise, for example, a landslide, an alarm signal will be immediately sent to the appropriate department.
It is necessary to have the monitoring, reception and storage system that Tedial has developed to receive the alarm signals. It has been adapted by the company for this project, and although it is still being tested, there is no doubt of the great perspectives ahead. Tedial is also planning its application to different functionalities.
