NAB 2008

TEDIAL brings its renewed Broadcast Solution to NAB´08.

Once again, Las Vegas Convention Center will held thousands of broadcast exhibitors and it will be on April, from11th to 17th. Just as the slogan implies, “where content comes to life”, NAB´08 is the perfect showcase for everyone to show their new developments; and a promising opportunity to establish professional contacts around the world.

TEDIAL will never let this opportunity slip, in order to exhibit the new products and improvements about automatic content management and the introduction of the tapeless model. TEDIAL will show new versions of its products, whose continuous development contributes to moderne TV installations. The company is always seeking the excellence, and that is the reason for introducing improvements at its products. One of the most important developments of TEDIAL is TD TARSYS© whose new architecture covers two essential requirements of a corporate MAM: Highly available and scalable. Moreover, the company will introduce at NAB 2008, an advanced version of this product, d-TARSYS©, a distributed TARSYS based on colaborative data bases concept and heterogeneous data models, through a system of federated centers.

Another important and advanced product is TD MEDIA PROCESS MANAGER©, also knows as MPM, which system allows definition, scheduling, and monitoring of media flows in an heterogeneous and distributed server environment. MPM interprets flow descriptions, makes sequences of multimedia operations, determines the elements required to carry out the media flow and assigns their worklist. MPM receives media flow orders from automation, traffic, production and archive systems.

The automatic analysis media library, TD INDEXER©, can be integrated with TARSYS and MPM systems. INDEXER is developed in the MPEG-7 and MPEG-21 standard context. Besides classic operations like creation of storyboard, media indexing and format regulation, Indexer includes new functions for automatic content detection through digital signature, subtitles indexing, automatic advertising detection and audio to text processing.

Otherwise, TD AST© is a transparent and scalable tertiary storage system (HSM) that allows to save multimedia material in external storage devices and to minimize the access time to the contents through various methods, including media archives partial downloading. AST new version, which will also be shown at NAB 2008, is a distributed multiserver architecture that virtualizes the local and shared servers storage (SAN) transforming them into multilevel caches. Moreover, distributed AST system allows the incorporation of new data base libraries to increase the storage capacity or the archive security.

AST assigns a unique identifier to each content item (video or audio archives or any other multimedia document) and moves archives between CD and tapes. AST applies substitution policy that maximize the system performance. AST provides continuous information about the processes being carried out, making a more accurate server management and optimizing the content browsing.

However, TEDIAL not only will present new versions, but will also introduce a new own development product, TD FICUS©. This is a system to manage the TV production process. It includes the channel´s own programmes, distributor programmes, advertisements and news. TD FICUS allows customized TV production flows designs, and the automatic creation of work orders for each audiovisual flow production phase. Some of these phases are ingest/digitalization, quality control, subtittling, broadcast norm verification, editing and final browsing.

TD FICUS is integrated with TARSYS and MPM (TEDIAL) and also with traffic, automating, editing and archiving systems. TD FICUS enlarges TEDIAL´s range of products to implant completely digital audiovisual production systems. TD FICUS, as the rest of TEDIAL products, is based on web service technologies, ensuring its integration with other applications.

Visitors at NAB 2008 wishing more information about these new products and the TEDIAL Broadcast Solution may drop by the booth SU 6006.
