Non-Broadcast

non-broadcast

Originally designed to handle the specific challenges of the broadcast sector, Tedial’s content management solutions are increasingly also used in industries which appear to be far removed from broadcast.  From audio-visual councils to legislative bodies, from airports to hospitals, a large number of non-broadcast organisations have implemented successful projects harnessing the power of Tarsys to manage their digital content.

Tedial’s expertise has been built on responding to challenges such as:

  • Managing a huge number of assets including very large files (e.g. HD video files)
  • Handling and processing specialist proprietary codecs and formats
  • Bringing together information and functionality held in diverse and often incompatible third-party systems to create a single, seamless system.
  • Providing immediate access to all assets.

At Tedial we know that even the most straightforward MAM implementation can have specialised integration requirements – and failing to respond to these can severely limit the success of a project. Standard IT MAM and BPM [Business Process Management] products are designed for environments where interoperability is often the norm and third-party systems already have well-developed web-services – Tedial is able to respond to a far broader and more complex set of challenges.

Non-video as well as video files can be supported as primary assets. Graphics, image files, documents, spreadsheets, pdfs etc. are stored in the archive and recorded in the database with thumbnails and with as many metadata fields as required – thus providing a MAM solution that reaches beyond the traditional media realm. Tarsys is indeed a DAM (Digital Asset Management).

In working with specialised sectors, Tedial has created industry-specific tools. For recording parliamentary sessions, we have developed special cataloguing tools which enable debates and politicians’ interventions to be linked to passages in transcripts of law bills or court rulings. Tarsys offers tight integration to databases used by legislative bodies allowing transcription of the sessions directly from low-resolution proxy files.

Tedial is also a leader in the growing market of monitoring. Government regulatory bodies and audio-visual councils use our solutions to monitor all radio and TV output in their countries, ensuring compliance with censorship and watershed laws, as well as with advertising airtime and political pluralism regulations. Large networks use Tedial watermarking and fingerprinting systems to monitor their output at national and regional levels and to ensure compliance with their commercial objectives and legal responsibilities.
