What we do
Enabling tapeless

At Tedial we think it’s important for organisations to go tapeless. But we see the move to tapeless as the first step in a larger and more mission-critical process. We call this process “enabling tapeless”.
“Enabling tapeless” means making the move away from linear workflows. It means opening the door to enhanced productivity by implementing methods and processes that may have previously seemed impossible. For organisations using Tedial’s products, enabling tapeless entails reviewing and questioning every step of existing processes with the aim of increasing production output and reducing costs.
A workflow review establishes who does what. Are expensive creative professionals spending too much time on tedious repetitive tasks that could be done by technology? Are employees focussed on their own area of expertise or are they attempting too many different tasks? How much waiting around is there in between tasks? Where are the bottlenecks? Why are operational errors more likely to occur in one place than in another? How efficient are your operators? How many hours does it really take to produce a promo? How many people are involved?
Enabling tapeless answers these questions and addresses many issues that have always been seen as unavoidable - “part of the nature of the broadcast business”. A facility taking full advantage of the flexibility afforded by working in a true file-based environment will find endless possibilities to create more and better content in less time with fewer man-hours by defining tasks according to business requirements rather than technical processes. Equally, it will be able to capitalise on the organisation’s archived media, which previously was difficult or expensive to access.
Relying on Tedial software, experience, and expertise, customers are able to implement new workflows – designed around their unique requirements – in as many different areas as needed: from QC to editing; from promos to playout – the choice is endless. While most competitors simply offer a few prefabricated workflows that can be customised within limited parameters, Tedial instead offer the tools to implement dozens or hundreds of workflows, each and every one designed from scratch around your unique requirements.
Tedial graphic interfaces also allow workflows to be changed and enhanced as required by today’s rapidly changing world, whether this means launching new channels, working with new platforms, making last-minute safe and reliable schedule changes or implementing new technology.
And you needn’t just take our word for it: Tedial’s products are able to audit performance, so that you can quantify the improvements in productivity in your organisation in a concrete and unambiguous way.
