Tedial SMARTLIVE Wins TVB Europe Best of Show IBC 2018 Award
Tedial is delighted to announce that it was presented with a TVB Europe “Best of Show” Award at IBC 2018 on Monday, for SMARTLIVE. The award presented to Tedial’s CSO/CMO Esther Mesas on stand 8.B41 honours innovation and outstanding product development in Production & Post (Tedial category), Content Management and Delivery.
SMARTLIVE is a cutting-edge live sport solution and major revolution in sports production. Its unique development marries Artificial Intelligence (AI) to an innovative metadata engine to bring the back office and archives closer to live than ever before. This tight integration supports an increased number of highlights, during or after an event, and allows a specific story to be delivered to a targeted audience via multiple platforms including Social Media, increasing the potential for significant growth in fan engagement.
“This award further endorses the forward thinking machine learning capabilities that SMARTLIVE provides,” says Esther Mesas. We had a fantastic IBC with high numbers of visitors to the stand all excited to see SMARTLIVE in action. We’re delighted to have been selected for this award and thank TVB Europe for their recognition.”
At IBC 2018 Tedial announced that SMARTLIVE now includes an auto-logging tool, which automatically creates all logging information for every event using AI technology. It can analyse commentary tracks and insert the corresponding logs into event logs and it can provide video recognition of action and players. This is particularly relevant for less popular sports where data feeds may not be available and when manually logging events is not cost-effective.
SMARTLIVE is now fully integrated with Speechmatics speech recognition technology, which enables speech-to-text integration by annotating incoming live media. This provides two new workflows, using a live feed, SMARTLIVE can automatically create an event log, which allows the operator to search for any comments made during the match. This log is stored in the library with the attached file locators automatically created by Speechmatics. The second workflow allows the operator to import a file or drop it into a watch folder and manually generate the speech to text from the commentary track.
