Tedial at IBC 2018 Mini

Visitors to this year’s IBC looked for greater efficiency.  They sought innovative technology that enables cost-cutting measures, increases the output of existing staff or applies machine learning to tasks to reduce labor and unleash creativity.

At Tedial, we demonstrated how our innovative and proven MAM solutions for sports production, content orchestration and distribution, and storage management, help media companies meet challenges in a transforming industry.

As we expected, our award- winning SMARTLIVE cutting-edge live sports and event production solution received a lot of interest. SMARTLIVE leverages AI tools and provides 100 per cent compatibility with existing PAM systems. Marrying AI to a unique metadata engine, SMARTLIVE automates media logging, clip creation and distribution, including social media pitches.  At IBC we showcased our new, auto-logging tool, which automatically creates all logging information for every event using AI technology.  We also demonstrated full integration with Speechmatics speech recognition technology, which enables speech-to-text by annotating incoming live media and generating two new workflows. SMARTLIVE gives productions a competitive advantage by enriching storytelling and increasing operator’s output capacity.

Visitors also showed great interest in our HYPER IMF end-to-end MAM solution, which brings the benefits of SMPTE standards to ingest, archive, versioning and delivery. New features include automatic Evolution Version Factory leader insertion, which incorporates all the elements required for each platform (e.g. bars/clock etc.) and automatic localization based on delivery profile, enabling all credits and text insertions for every language required to be added automatically.

We also displayed our IMF Markup Tool, a simple-to-use editor that addresses the versioning requirements typically needed for distribution, which has several new features.

Throughout the show we demonstrated Evolution aSTORM, our hybrid content management solution, which answers the current and future global archive and storage requirements by changing the storage paradigm from the traditional multi-tier vertical HSM approach to a horizontal object-based storage environment, transparently managing physical and virtual storage tiers across multiple operational locations (multi-site).   Tedial Evolution aSTORM now supports Google Cloud and AWS Glacier cloud storage in addition to S3 protocol.
