The smartPack for Delivery to Linear Platforms focuses on the seamless transfer of media content from the Media Asset Management (MAM) system to a broadcaster’s linear playout system, ensuring efficient management, scheduling, and broadcast of television programming.

Scheduling

Schedule Processing: The schedule, typically exported as a file or transmitted via API from a Traffic/Scheduling System, contains all necessary information about the assets required for the linear playout system.

Asset Restore: Based on the schedule’s information, smartWork retrieves the required assets from online or archived storage. These assets can include video files, audio and subtitle language tracks, images, commercials, and any other media elements needed for the scheduled broadcast. SmartWork ensures that the assets are delivered to the appropriate playout system channels at the specified times according to the received schedule.

Delivery:

Single Clip: The media assets are provided in their original source file format as stored within the Media Asset Management (MAM) system. Optionally, they can be transcoded to conform to specific playout standards before delivery.

Package: All relevant media files associated with a specific asset are included as a complete package. This package can encompass any asset components, such as the original high-resolution media, associated language and subtitle tracks, sidecar XML files, and attachments like Quality Control (QC) reports. Media files can optionally be transcoded to conform with specific playout standards before delivery.
