Migration
The smartPack for migration focuses on efficiently transferring metadata and media from a legacy Media Asset Management (MAM) or other system to a new one, with the aim of decommissioning the old system.
Functionality
This migration process involves two distinct services: metadata migration and media migration.
Metadata Migration:
The metadata migration service enables the quick transfer of metadata from the legacy MAM system to the new one. This process involves exporting the metadata from the legacy MAM database into an XML file. The metadata is then mapped and aligned with the corresponding metadata structure in the new MAM system.
Media Migration:
Media migration is a more complex process that involves restoring and transferring the actual media files from the legacy MAM system to the new one. To optimize this migration, the process can be divided into two workflows: FastTrack and Enrichment.
The ultimate goal of the smartPack for migration is to facilitate a smooth transition from the legacy MAM system to the new one, allowing businesses to decommission the old system efficiently.
