Before landing in Vegas for NAB 2022, we don’t think anyone – both visitors and exhibitors – were totally sure what to expect. Would there be many people? Would we feel safe? Would companies obtain quality leads? And many other questions. But those concerns disappeared as soon as the doors opened on day one. Located in the Central Hall, on Booth #C1731 we had a new stand with new branding to highlight smartWork, our new Media Integration Platform, which we launched at the show. We were absolutely blown away by the level of interest and some amazing feedback that we received from customers:
“Congratulations for smartWork”
“Amazing! This is a totally fresh new approach”
“This is a really cool piece of software”
These were just some of the comments, and what we quickly learnt is that people who sat in on many of our demos really appreciate the fact that non-tech people can very easily configure and deploy business operation workflows using this unique new technology. It wasn’t just the visitors that liked it, we’re really proud to announce that smartWork won a “TV Tech Best of Show 2022 Award”.
These prestigious awards recognize products and solutions from the technology and media industries exhibited at this year’s show, with entries being considered for their innovation, prowess and capabilities. As we gradually move back towards normality with live shows and events, this year’s NAB was a great platform to unveil smartWork to a wider audience.
Tom Butts, TV Technology Content Director says, “With live events coming back to the forefront and becoming commonplace again, this year’s Best of Show awards were expected to be more competitive than ever – and it didn’t disappoint. The number of entries matched the positive attendance at this year’s show and selecting the winners proved to be challenging. Those who have won can know that their solution was truly outstanding and impressed our judges, as all entries received were of a high-level.”
As well as demonstrating smartWork on the Booth, our CTO Julian Fernandez-Campon also presented a paper at the Conference that highlighted the technology’s advanced security features, which took place on Monday April 25. The presentation titled “Advanced Security Using a NoCode Media Integration Platform” showed some of the best practices to protect content production using our unique new NoCode iPaaS for Media paradigm, which offers a cybersecurity framework that protects at all levels, from the standard IT infrastructure up to the applications, and more importantly at the Media Production level.
Julian showed the different levels of security including the risks that can be introduced for Cloud Operation, security applied to the M&E industry aligned with the Movielabs Enhanced Content Protection for Production, recommended security practices, and finally how all these security policies are achieved naturally using a NoCode Media Integration Platform: smartWork. This includes platform-agnostic cloud tools, such as Infrastructure as a Code Deployments, Zero Trust approaches (in opposition to the VPN false security), abstraction layers provided from the NoCode Media Integration Platform in terms of systems and media locations, and many other advanced features that at the end come up with a new/high level security schema: workflow-defined security.
We’ll be posting a blog on our website on this topic soon so keep your eyes peeled to our social media.
During the show, Julian also took part in a recorded interview with Darren Whitehead, Director of Business Development, IABM. Julian explained how smartWork distills complex workflows into simplified processes. The technology’s no-code architecture will revolutionize productivity for non-technical users, and because it follows Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) it can be deployed on-premises, on any cloud or in a hybrid architecture for incredible flexibility. It democratizes business processes, empowering users to define integrations autonomously – without vendor participation – and create workflows in a flexible and agile manner.
We also took this opportunity to introduce our new VP of Business Development and Partnerships, US & Canada, Nick Gold who has worked in the Media & Entertainment industry for many years and has recently joined our team.
To sum up, we were extremely happy with NAB 2022 and look forward to heading back to Vegas next year.
