At the DPP Media Supply Festival 2025, held in the vibrant heart of Times Square, industry leaders gathered to explore the evolving definition of the media supply chain, from content creation to viewer delivery. One standout session — with Phil Madden, Head of Media Management at ATP Media and Julián Fernández-Campón, CTO at Tedial — focused on how we helped our customer ATP Media transform its operations to meet the demands of modern media distribution.

ATP Media, the broadcast partner of the ATP tennis tour, recently underwent a digital transformation by consolidating four legacy systems into a single media management platform called ACE. The new system addresses complex distribution challenges across 60 annual tournaments.

The platform, based on Tedial smartWork, features advanced access controls managing over 1,500 permissions, ensuring that each customer sees only the content to which they should have access. It supports multiple ingest and delivery methods, allowing direct publishing to streaming platforms, websites, and FAST channels with automated transcoding and metadata management.

Phil Madden emphasised the need for a team that could guide ATP through the project. The collaboration with Tedial involved daily communication, in-person meetings, and Slack channels to enable ongoing back-and-forth between teams. Julián Fernández-Campón described the agile approach, involving key people in discussions and short development cycles to address challenges as they arose.

One of the goals of the project was to enable a gradual transition of systems while maintaining legacy infrastructure during the process. This approach created additional complexities. However, business disruption was minimised using a phased migration approach.

A key innovation is the platform’s data insights, revealing content consumption patterns such as peak usage times immediately before and after tournaments. The system also prepares for future AI integration, including semantic search capabilities, multilingual content discovery, and automated collection creation.

This insight was shared during a panel discussion at the Media Supply Festival 2025. We appreciate our collaboration with the DPP, which made it possible to share these reflections at the event and publish them here on our blog.
