We’ve nearly reached the end of 2018 and what a fantastic and busy year it’s been!

Throughout the year we’ve worked on a number of successful international projects for leading broadcasters and production companies that mostly incorporate 4K-8K UHD content.

In a continuously evolving industry, our customers are at the heart of our business and we’re providing innovative and scalable solutions that help them to stay ahead of the curve. These include end-to-end IMF workflows; management of content for multiple formats (including 6K RAW) and cameras; management of HD, UHD and 360 contents in sports, and many more. At NAB 2018, we created quite a buzz when we launched SMARTLIVE, our cutting-edge live event solution and major revolution in sports production software. SMARTLIVE uniquely marries Artificial Intelligence (AI) to an innovative metadata engine to bring the back office and archives closer to live than ever before. This tight integration supports an increased number of highlights, during or after an event, and allows a specific story to be delivered to a targeted audience via multiple platforms, including social media, increasing the potential for significant growth in fan engagement. Throughout the year, we’ve participated in a host of global conferences and speaker events highlighting SMARTLIVE and our end-to-end IMF MAM workflow. At NAB we introduced our IMF Markup Tool, a simple-to-use editor that addresses the versioning requirements typically needed for distribution. Designed for fast validation and repair of IMF packages, this intuitive tool functions independently of expensive third-party systems, making it an extremely cost-effective and user-friendly solution.

At IBC 2018, we announced new features to our HYPER IMF end-to-end MAM (media asset management) solution, which supports IMF formats for ingest, archive and delivery. and now includes automatic leader insertion which incorporates all the elements required for each platform (e.g. bars/clock etc.), and automatic localization based on delivery profile, enabling all credits and text insertions for every language required to be added automatically.

We also showcased Evolution aSTORM at IBC, our future-proof, hybrid content management solution. Evolution aSTORM, which now supports Google Cloud and AWS Glacier cloud storage, changes the storage paradigm from the traditional HSM approach (multi-tier vertical) to a true object-based storage environment (multi-site, horizontal). aSTORM transparently manages various storage tiers across departments and locations. Highly scalable and reliable, Evolution aSTORM allows broadcasters to adapt and optimize their investments to cope with technology changes or when storage related costs decrease.
