Tedial’s New Capture Manager Coming Soon…

From September 2020, Tedial’s award-winning, next-generation Evolution MAM will include a new version of Tedial’s Capture Manager, a scheduling UI that provides an agnostic central interface for controlling and monitoring devices as well as advanced ingest features.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, global media companies have turned to remote production tools that enable operators to control ingest anytime, from anywhere. The latest version of Tedial’s web-based HTML5 Capture Manager does just that and more.

Tedial’s new Capture Manager includes two different tools; the first is for the ingest list.

Ingest List Capture

This creates ingest placeholders before an event is recorded.  It allows the production team to be more efficient by creating the scheduling information using the metadata way in advance of the event, even before the team knows on which router input the event will be recorded. When a router input has been defined the system then automatically allocates the physical ingest channel, which is free at that time. This highly efficient workflow reduces the time spent managing the ingest process and gives greater visibility to what’s coming next.

The second tool is the ingest scheduling tool, which orchestrates scheduling using a timeline view per ingest channel. This provides dynamic allocation of ingest channels, which helps the production team to avoid the hassle of managing allocation of physical resources.

Capture Ingest Scheduler

It’s agnostic to third-parties and more importantly, to video servers. This means that several servers from different manufacturers can be managed together from the same tool, at the same time.  This helps customers to leverage their investments and gives them flexibility when buying video servers.

It also enables connection to traffic systems like Provys or Mediagenix. Thanks to Tedial’s API, this allows operators to manage an end-to-end ingest workflow. Programme scheduling is created in the traffic system, which then allocates an ingest placeholder on the ingest list. Tedial’s capture manager tools then automatically control the router and dynamically switch the input at the time of the recording.

There are a number of benefits for using Tedial’s Capture Manager. These include:

  • Allows remote production
  • Provides increased production efficiency thanks to the combination of the ingest list and ingest scheduling features
  • It’s agnostic to third-parties like traffic systems, video servers and routers, which enables increased flexibility
  • Allows future proof investment of ingest technology
